Road safety highlighted at Royal Highland Show

Interactive activities have been used to illustrate the importance of road safety in Scotland.The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) joined with the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives to raise awareness of the Scottish Occupational Road Safety Alliance at the Royal Highland Show.
Activities were held in the Road Safety Village, educating visitors about matters such as keeping to the speed limit and the proper fixing of child car seats.
Kathleen Braidwood of RoSPA stressed the need to communicate messages about rural road safety in particular.
She said the Road Safety Village - which included a school, shop and hotel - was a "fantastic way" to inform people about the issue.
The Royal Highland Show was supported by the Royal Bank of Scotland organisers have revealed this year's event set a new record for attendees.
It welcomed 187,644 people over four days, beating the 2009 figure of 176,522.
