Road safety professionals invited to TRL seminar

Date: 20/5/2011

Professionals from the UK's road safety sector are being invited to a seminar that will be hosted next month by TRL (the Transport Research laboratory) and IRSO, the Institute of Road Safety Officers.

The two groups have joined forces to plan the not-for-profit event as part of their focus on the Decade of Action campaign's fourth pillar, "Safer Road Users."

Attendees will get the chance to enhance their skills in all aspects of health and transport, which could lead to a successful reduction in road casualties.

Taking place at Crowthorne House in Berkshire on June 22nd 2011, the seminar will feature a tour of DigiCar - TRL's driving simulator - along with presentations from industry experts.

Issues covered will include driver distraction, improving child safety in vehicles and training for new motorists.

The United Nations' Decade of Action for Road Safety was launched on May 11th and aims to cut the number of road deaths by 2020.
