A man from Milton Keynes will be cycling from London to Paris in a bid to raise funds for a road safety charity.Andy Phillips will start the 350-mile trip, which is part of the organisation's Million Metres campaign, on May 5th and is planning to finish on May 8th.
Managing director of Applied Driving Techniques Mr Phillips said: "As I work in the road safety industry and have been connected with Brake for a number of years, I decided that this would be the perfect charity to raise money for."
He added that he hopes the trip will raise awareness of the work that Brake does as well as raising cash to support it.
A spokeswoman from the charity stated that any money made will offer support to those bereaved or injured by a road crash, as well as providing the means to spread road safety messages which could save lives.
Photographs of car accidents are going on display across St Albans as part of a new campaign to persuade drivers to wear seatbelts and reduce their speed, the Herts Advertiser recently reported.
