A campaign launched by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) has won an accolade. Its Road Safety ETP Evaluation Project has been given a Prince Michael International Road Safety Award, which was presented to the organisation by Prince Michael of Kent.
The initiative was launched by Minster for Road Safety Mike Penning a year ago and is part of the government's Strategic Framework for Road Safety.
RoSPA was commended for its road safety evaluation website and E-valu-it tool that enables those operating in the sector to assess aspects of their activities such as education, training and publicity.
Head of Road Safety at RoSPA Kevin Clinton said: "We are immensely proud to win this prestigious award for our website and toolkit, which is the first of its kind for road safety ETP."
He added that he hopes road safety practitioners will continue to use the solution.
At the end of last month, research conducted by the Post Office revealed many parents speed when driving their children to school in the morning, increasing their chances of having an accident.
