Scoot MMX launched by TRL

Date: 29/3/2011
Against a backdrop of innovative technologies and policies and an ongoing commitment to research and development, the Scoot MMX has been unveiled by TRL.Alongside Siemens and PEEK Traffic, the independent research, consultancy and testing group launched the software today (March 29th) at the TRAFFEX 2011 exhibition at the NEC.
Now operating in more than 250 towns and cities worldwide, the updated SCOOT Urban Traffic Control system includes many new features that have been designed to allow public transport to be prioritised over other road users.
In addition, the latest release - the Scoot MC3 - incorporates a new strategy to benefit walkers using pedestrian crossings.
This multi-model theme has been continued in the new Scoot MMX and includes features to improve operation during low-traffic flow periods - such as reduced cycle time when it is quiet.
TRL also launched MOVA 7 at the exhibition - the latest version of its Microprocessor Optimised Vehicle Actuation signal control strategy.
New features of the product include Traffic Management Act logs to be used during junction operation reviews to easily identify problems, along with a measurement of saturation flow.
First incorporated in MOVA 7, the newest release carries out a statistical analysis on the data collected.
TRAFFEX is an international event for professionals involved in the road safety, highway infrastructure and traffic management sector.
