Scottish road safety group launches new website

Date: 8/12/2010

A road safety group in Scotland has launched a new website as part of its campaign to reduce the number of young people involved in car accidents in the Highlands.

The North of Scotland Driver Awareness Team was set up by Labour MSP David Stewart and the online portal will include information about its work so far, as well as links to a range of safety organisations, according to the Press and Journal

Mr Stewart said: "I am absolutely delighted that our campaign, which only started a few months ago, has grabbed the attention of so many who want to work with us to make our roads safer."

He encouraged anyone who wants to join the organisation or lend their support to get in touch, especially young road users, whose views are highly important.

Earlier this week, the Department for Transport established a new website in partnership with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents to help local authorities better evaluate their road safety practices.
