Sea transportation is needed between Pakistan and Oman

There are tremendous opportunities for enhancing trade between Pakistan and Oman through marine transportation, according to Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani.


He goes on to add that it would also promote tourism and trade. Speaking to a three-member delegation from Oman, including Mohammed Nasser Al-Khasibi, secretary general of the ministry of economy, the Prime Minister expressed hope that they would share this objective.


The delegates were in Pakistan to attend the 6th Joint Ministerial Commission.


The main objective is to develop sea transportation between Islamabad and Oman to enhance bilateral trade through the Gawada sea port.


"Oman greatly values the brotherly relationship with Pakistan and desires to work more closely at every level," said Mohammed Nasser, secretary general of ministry of economy for Oman.


He goes on to assure the Pakistan Prime Minister that there will be more support for the reconstruction of militancy affected areas and that the success of the Pakistan-Oman Joint Investment company encourages additional investment in Pakistan.
