'Significant increase' in value of 4x4s at auction

Date: 7/2/2011
A rise in the value of 4x4 pickups has been recorded over recent weeks, with both "lifestyle" and "workhorse" models reported to be performing well.Commercial vehicle seller British Car Auctions (BCA) revealed that on behalf of UK Car Group, BCA Blackbushe sold a special range of 20 vehicles of this kind during January and generated a significant amount of interest from trade buyers and small businesses as a result.
Duncan Ward, BCA General Manager of Commercial Vehicles, said: "Well-specified 4x4s are in demand and examples with leather, satellite navigation, chrome trim, alloy wheels, metallic paint and popular extras like searchlight bars are making exceptional money."
He added that age and mileage appeared to be less of a concern, as long as the vehicles were in a good and clean condition.
Mr Ward went on to claim that the 4x4 double-cab sector is reaching a wider audience than previously.
The BCA offers consumers the chance to choose from thousands of vehicles in more than 100 auctions every week.
