Stars help promote London road safety

Date: 26/10/2010
Transport for London's (TfL) campaign to promote road safety among teenagers has received backing from some of the capital's leading musicians and the city's Empire cinema.Artists including Tinie Tempah, Tinchy Stryder and Eliza Doolittle, as well as rising stars Rox and Jaya, threw their weight behind the teen road safety campaign, which launched yesterday (October 25th).
The performers appear in a video clip promoting TfL's initiative reminding young Londoners to "look out for your mates", which is on video sharing website YouTube.
Kulveer Ranger, the Mayor of London's Transport Advisor, praised their contributions, saying: "It's great to see the cutting edge of young British music playing a fundamental role in getting a serious message to young people about road safety."
He went on to add the artists are demonstrating a sense of duty to their fans and urged young people to heed the message and "look out for each other on our roads".
Youngsters at a recent event in Falmouth organised by the Cornwall Council Road Safety Unit were also given a hard-hitting road safety message.
