Stobart Group secures three-year £60 million Unilever deal

Date: 13/11/2009
Stobart Group announced it was successful in securing a three year Unilever distribution contract worth £60 million this week.
The transport company is scheduled to service most of Unilever's manufacturing sites and marks the first time the UK arm of unilever has used a single supplier.
Chief executive of Stobart Group Andrew Tinkler said the partnership was a unique, full-service commitment and that the company expects to meet Unilever's carbon reduction commitments in the logistics programme.
"We believe we can help [Unilever] meet and even exceed its goals in terms of carbon reduction in the process," said Mr Tinkler.
Customer deliveries from various distribution centres would also be handled by Stobart in the new deal.
