Swansea railway station upgrade plans 'on display'

Plans for upgrade works at Swansea railway station have gone on display, it has been reported.The station is to feature a larger concourse, new booking office, improved amenities and CCTV cameras.
It is hoped the improvements will boost the city's regeneration programme.
The plan has received funding as part of an initiative to improve stations in England and Wales, backed by the Department of Transport with funding worth £150 million.
Of this, £85 million is to be invested in station improvements across Wales within the next four years, according to the BBC.
Swansea railway station's upgrade is to be implemented by Arriva Trains Wales, Network Rail and the Welsh Assembly Government.
Chris Rayner, route director for Network Rail, told the news service: "The transformed station will serve as a catalyst for further growth in rail usage in Swansea, while helping to provide a much better environment for the city."
Regeneration work has also started at Newport railway station.
