Taunton kids reminded of road safety

Date: 20/12/2010
The importance of keeping road safety in mind has been highlighted to children living in Taunton, a county town in Somerset.According to the Somerset County Gazette, childminder Jinny Priest joined in with the campaign, which took place as part of Road Safety Week.
She organised a Beep Beep! day to take place at her home in an effort to inform infants of the basic points they should remember whenever they are close to roads and thereby reduce the number of fatalities among young people that take place each year.
Beep Beep! is an initiative from the charity Brake, which suggested organisers of events ask all child attendees to come along wearing a piece of bright, reflective clothing, or listen to a tape of different road noises and have a go at identifying them.
The charity has announced that the theme of its 2011 Road Safety Week will be 2 Young 2 Die.
