TfL launches fresh safety campaign for motorcyclists

Date: 1/7/2013
A six-week campaign aimed at improving the safety of motorcyclists in the British capital has been launched by (TfL) Transport for London. In a bid to reduce the number who are killed or injured on the city's streets, the initiative will promote the message 'Think! Don't ride too fast' via the use of cinema, radio and video-on demand.
As well as the main thrust of the scheme, TfL's safety strategy will target other motorists, placing posters in petrol station forecourts that urge them to look out for motorcyclists on the roads.
The move comes after figures from 2012 show that the total number of casualties on the capital's roads fell by around two per cent compared to 2011, but TfL emphasised that there is more hard work to be done to achieve further declines.
Indeed, last month the organisation launched a 'Safe Streets for London' campaign, with a focus on reducing fatalities among pedestrians, cyclists and other vulnerable road users.
