THINK! forms road safety partnership with Leeds FC

Date: 20/1/2011
The Leeds United Foundation and road safety campaign THINK! have teamed up to form a new partnership.According to the Department for Transport, children between the ages of six and 11 who attend the foundation's after-school clubs will now have the opportunity to learn about staying safe through the use of THINK!'s Tales of the Road materials.
One of the most important subjects will be learning how to find a safe crossing point, as it is believed this is a key factor in keeping young people protected while walking by busy roads.
Road Safety Minister Mike Penning explains: "We need to think of new ways to reach children and make sure that they are given the skills they need to keep themselves safe on the roads as they grow up and gain independence."
Meanwhile, Alan Scorfield, Education Project Manager at the Leeds United Foundation, revealed he hoped combining the road safety message with football would be effective.
In related news, THINK! has also formed a partnership with West Bromwich Albion.
