Train stations added to Google Street View

Date: 7/3/2012
Some of the UK's busiest train stations are now available to look at on Google Street View.Network Rail has teamed up with the search engine to photograph the concourses of some of the country's biggest transport hubs so it is easier for people to find their way around.
Among the stations that are included are London Liverpool Street, Euston, Paddington, Glasgow Central, Leeds, Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Piccadilly.
This will allow people to find out what facilities and retail outlets stations have before they arrive.
Network Rail's Managing Director of Network Operations Robin Gisby said: "People shop in stations; they meet their families and friends, use the cash points and grab a bite or a drink."
He claimed the new service will make this easier for them.
The organisation is also working with train operators in an alliance framework to create greater co-operation within the rail industry and deliver improvements for passengers and freight users.
