'Transport plan' devised for traffic around Cheddar Reservoir

Date: 4/6/2013
Bristol Water says it has worked with the relevant bodies to establish a transport plan in a bid to minimise the impact of construction traffic when work gets underway on Cheddar Reservoir Two.A recent consultation on the building of the £100 million facility revealed that the biggest concern of residents was that traffic could potentially block the roads while the project is completed.
As such, the firm has published revised plans designed to address the fears of locals, with details of the new proposals set to be on display at a number of public exhibitions between June 27th and 29th.
Jeremy Williams, spokesman for the Reservoir initiative, said that the company's efforts "show how we have responded to feedback regarding the first stage of consultation and details the timetable for the second stage".
As part of the fresh plans, Bristol Water revealed it will be looking to ensure construction vehicles will avoid travelling during peak periods.
