TRL branches into new territory in South Africa

Date: 28/4/2011
Aurecon South Africa is to begin selling products from TRL (Transport Research Laboratory). The move comes after TRL conducted successful Streetaudit training and auditing in Johannesburg last year, as part of a project to develop a new rapid bus transit.
Under the new arrangement, the primary focus will be on selling TRL Software products TRANYST, ARCADY and Streetaudit.
Aurecon already resells TRL Software in New Zealand and Australia and TRL has worked alongside them since 2008.
Indeed, Aurecon chose TRL's TRANSYT (Traffic Network Study Tool) 13 and PERS (Pedestrian Environment Review System) for a project to model the Hoddle Street area of Melbourne, Victoria.
Gavin Jackman, TRL's Head of Traffic and Software, says: "TRANSYT is already a truly international product, used by hundreds of consultancies and local authorities around the world, while ARCADY, is the world's leading software for the assessment of roundabout capacity, delay and accident risk."
