TRL launches ARCADY8 roundabout software

Date: 20/2/2012

TRL has launched its new ARCADY8 road software.

The technology combines ARCADY and PICADY and is used to assess the capacity of roundabouts, as well as the risk of delays or accidents.

It offers both basic and advanced modes, as well as a roundabout bypass lane facility and individual entry lane simulation.

Head of Traffic and Software at TRL Gavin Jackman explained ARCADY is a market-leading product and the group has spent 30 years developing it.

"Now with this latest version, we have effectively delivered a one stop shop for traffic engineers," he stated.

The Autotrack Junctions link is included as standard and engineers can also establish the queues that are likely to occur in each roundabout entry lane using the Entry Lane Analysis model.

At the end of last year, TRL introduced a nine-month student licence for its TRANSYT 14 software, which means it is now available for those studying traffic engineering and large, signalised networks.
