TRL launches its first iPhone app

Date: 9/9/2011
Traffic engineers are to receive a helping hand, in the form of the newly-released iPhone app from TRL (Transport Research Laboratory). The organisation has released TrafApps, which professionals in the business may be familiar with as TRL's original "Traffic Engineering Software BUNDLE".
Now available for the new mobile technology platform, the app can be used on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad and is part of TRL's drive to streamline and integrate the processes that traffic engineers require to make their job more efficient.
SATFLOW and MOVASPEED are two of the most popular programs to be taken from BUNDLE, while the app is able to use the built-in GPS of Apple products and allows users to send results to colleagues back in the office via email.
Looking to the future, TRL's Developer Team are keen to further assist traffic engineers and are currently working towards the inclusion of generalised traffic counter program STC, and Cyclic Flow Profiles collector CFP, within TrafApps.
