TRL launches Transyt 14

Date: 17/6/2010
TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) has unveiled the latest release of its traffic signal co-ordination tool TRANSYT 14 software, designed to provide efficient, effective, process-driven analysis tools to traffic professionals around the globe. The application has specific functionality so users can easily assess an isolated signal-controlled junction.
A number of benefits are associated with the package, which include the way in which information is stored on one TRANSYT file.
Indirect traffic control and the effect of platoons of network traffic on unsignalled junctions are some of the other advantages of the application.
Clients can also choose from the traditional link structure or the New Lane and Traffic Stream version and, according to TRL, the latter means the number of connections needed can be reduced and one TRANSYT lane can be created.
Optimisation has been improved, which means customers can also view the data in Shotgun Hill-climb or Simulated Annealing rather than the original hill climb.
Earlier this month, TRL released Ratemystreet to allow people to determine the walkability of their road using Google Streetview and Google Maps.
