TRL takes Child Safety Centre to Kind & Jugend

Date: 16/9/2011
Hundreds of businesses and organisations from around the world have been visiting the Kind & Jugend Show in Cologne, Germany - including TRL (Transport Research Laboratory). As the world's leading baby and toddler outfitting event, the fair - which began on September 15th and goes on until 18th - acts as a meeting point for the industry and TRL is using it as a showcase to promote its Child Safety Centre.
Experts from the organisation will be on hand to speak with retailers and manufacturers of car seats for kids and detail some of the specialist services it offers in this area - including ECE R44 Type Approval and Conformity of Production testing.
TRL's initiative also incorporates a bespoke product development consultancy, along with a consumer rating system - which provides an independent review of a particular item's performance.
According to the group, manufacturers that include a TRL Child Seat Rating on their product could find this valuable, as it offers customers clear information about the seat and helps them to compare it with other rated options in order to choose the one that is best for their needs and budget.
TRL tests child seats using its own impact test rig, which is a unique, patented system that was designed by the transport organisation's team of engineers. The bungee-powered model can also be built to a client's own specifications.
The Child Safety Centre runs regular Child Seat Check days, where parents and guardians can find out if they have installed the restraint systems correctly in their vehicle.
