Date: 29/10/2009
Two of UK's biggest transport firms report good health after good rail and
bus operations trading.
Arriva, owner of CrossCountry rail, said revenues have improved over the past six weeks and its bus division is still consistent with the first months of the year.
Go-Ahead reported revenue growth was better than expected in its regulated
and deregulated bus operations.
Rail operations in Go-Ahead were also reported in line with expected
earnings.
Press Association reports Go-Ahead updated shareholders ahead of its
annual meeting that "at this early stage in the financial year, we
continue to assume that economic conditions will remain difficult."
The firm has kept its forecasted earnings consistent.
Arriva shares opened today two per cent higher, while Go-Ahead gained
one per cent.
