UK's first eco motor show returns for second year

Date: 13/1/2012

Ecovelocity, the first eco motor show in the UK, is to return for a second year.

Originally held at Battersea Power Station, the event will move to ExCeL London and take place between May 10th and 13th 2012.

Manufacturers will be showing off their electric, hybrid and very low carbon models, while visitors will get the chance to test drive some of the vehicles on a special circuit.

Last year, 17 brands took part and between them held 7,000 test drives.

Managing Director of organising firm IGME Giles Brown said the Ecovelocity "really stood out from other car events" last year.

He added that to make the 2012 show even better, it has moved to a "world-class venue" that can accommodate further test drives.

It seems 2012 could be a significant year for eco-friendly motors, as Next Green Car stated there will be a "second electric revolution" with the launch of two plug-in hybrids to complement existing all-electric vehicles.
