Worcester PC will take the plunge to raise road safety awareness

Date: 20/5/2010

A Worcester Police Constable will be jumping out of a plane to raise awareness of a road safety charity.

Wayne Hurley will be doing a skydive with his colleague, Community Support Officer Mark Dodkin, the Worcester News reports.

Mr Hurley remarked: "We hope to raise as much money for Brake as possible as it is a great charity which works to reduce deaths and injuries on Britain's roads."

He added that the challenge has also boosted his fitness levels as he had to lose three stone in order to participate.

The pair will plummet 10,000 feet on Saturday May 29th and they are hoping to raise more than £1,200 pounds for the organisation.

Both men will only finish their freefall parachuting training course the day before the jump.

Meanwhile, Andy Philips from Milton Keynes recently cycled from London to Paris to alert the public to the dangers on the UK's roads while collecting money to support Brake.
