Appia and TRL - The Best of Both Worlds

Date: 10/1/2012

Appia Infrastructure Solutions and TRL are delighted to announce their agreement to work in partnership in the delivery of enhanced highways and infrastructure asset management solutions for local authority and national road networks, both in the UK and around the world.

This agreement strengthens the existing excellent working relationship that the two organisations have developed in recent years and combines TRL's acknowledged position as world-leading transport research and consultancy experts with Appia's expertise as a leading highway and pavement management consultancy and their innovative asset management software.

Appia and TRL are collaborating to further develop Appia's Scheme Engineer® family of software products to provide enhanced asset management analysis and modelling capabilities. These developments will include methods and models for advanced asset management, drawing upon TRL's extensive research base and in-house technical expertise to deliver the capability that asset managers have been requesting to meet business needs.

At the same time Appia will have access to TRL's considerable research expertise and knowledge to support further development of custom and standard modelling within Scheme Engineer®, and to facilitate the develop of new models and approaches.

Appia and TRL will provide a range of solutions designed to meet client's asset management needs across their entire range of consultancy, training and software needs.

This closer working relationship was formally announced by Barry Cleave, Head of Asset Management for TRL and Peter Davidson of Appia, at Appia's Asset Management Training conference in 2011.
