The TSD is a 20 tonne instrumented articulated lorry capable of assessing the structural condition of road pavements using contactless laser technology. TRL has been evaluating the TSD to develop it into a fully functional tool capable of surveying the Highway Agency’s Strategic Road network at traffic speeds up to 80 kph.
