Transport and installation belong to the key challenges for offshore wind projects and make up a significant amount of total costs. But every project is different. Developing standards and optimizing procedures at the onshore/offshore-interface is vital to ensure smooth installation process under ever-changing project environments. These challenges include harmonization of vessels, port infrastructures, personnel, equipment and logistic procedures as well as new approaches for a flexible supply chain management.
