Venue: Central London TBA
Brief Description:Guest of Honour: Richard Bruce, Head, Office for Low Emission Vehicles, Department for Transport This seminar will focus on the latest developments in the UKs automotive industry, including market and supply chain challenges and technological and business innovation. Sessions will consider how collaborations between Government, the industry and wider stakeholders - in particular the upcoming Automotive Sector Strategy - can move forward the commercial and policy environment to support the UK automotive industry, particularly as an attractive inward investment opportunity. Delegates will discuss the challenges and opportunities for the UK moving forward as a global player against the back drop of excess capacity and lower demand domestically, sluggish international markets and increased competition from non-EU exporters. On low carbon vehicles, discussion will centre on advances across the various fuels and technologies, and the latest thinking on how to encourage their take up through consumer engagement and Government support, following the Budgets introduction of a new excise duty band for Ultra Low Emission Vehicles.
