The relocation follows the long-planned redevelopment of TRL’s previous headquarters at Crowthorne House, which is being converted into a housing estate by the landowners. All tenants, including TRL, have now vacated the site.

The new Wokingham facility reflects TRL’s commitment to innovation and excellence, offering a cutting-edge environment for its engineers, researchers, and operational teams.

Among its many features are state-of-the-art testing and laboratory facilities, including a brand-new UKAS accredited Materials Test Lab, a purpose-built specialist safety helmet drop rig, a workshop solely for Wehner Schulze pavement tests, a test and assembly area for Leg Form Impactors (crash test dummy parts), and a UTC testing suite to prove traffic light software management system development.  In addition, the new building provides space for other labs which can be utilised for any type of highways research task. The premises also provide vital cover and garage facilities for TRL’s fleet of more than 20 specialist vehicles, that support teams providing road condition surveys and pavement testing services on highways across the UK.

Paul Campion, CEO of TRL, commented: “We are excited about our new headquarters in Wokingham which will give us better ways to serve our clients and support the TRL team. We have taken the opportunity to design facilities that are optimised to enable our field service engineers, laboratory technicians and the TRL team involved in testing and research to deliver the very best results for our client. I am particularly pleased that we were able to find a location in Wokingham, an area with which TRL has deep-rooted links and a proud history. This move allows us to build on that legacy while providing a modern, sustainable, and collaborative environment that supports our people and the vital work we do for our clients and society.”

With additional offices in London and Kerala, India, the now privately-owned TRL continues to expand its global customer base, leading research and innovation projects that shape the future of transport safety, sustainability, and efficiency.

TRL’s new address is:

Unit 19, The Business Centre, Molly Millars Lane, Wokingham, RG41 2QY
