This document is one out of a suite of three stakeholder specific guidance documents on the safety assurance of trials. This document is aimed at local authorities (LAs) who have been engaged with by trialling organisations regarding the testing and trialling of connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) within the UK.
This includes those LAs who are consulted by Trialling Organisations in line with the requirements of the DfT Code of Practice for automated vehicle trialling, or those who are more actively involved in projects that are conducting CAV trials. The other two documents in the suite are aimed at trialling organisations and insurers. These documents have been developed by TRL as a key output from our work on CAV safety assurance within Project Endeavour.
