Deflectograph testing is a complimentary method to Falling Weight Deflectometer (FWD) for assessing the structural condition of a pavement. TRL introduced the deflectograph to the UK in the late 1960s and are one of only 5 current providers of deflectograph testing in the country.

TRL’s deflectograph is Traffic Signs Manual Chapter 8 compliant and operated in compliance with the requirements of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges CS 229 Data for pavement assessment. We undertake the annual accreditation trials and comply with all quality assurance requirements of the accreditation process.

Our deflectograph is operated with sub-metre GNSS (global navigation satellite system) equipment for enhanced data location information.

TRL can upload post-processed data direct to HAPMS on our Client’s behalf or undertake processing in PANDEF in order to determine residual life.
