TRL has played a key role in helping manufacturers ensure the occupant safety in rolling stock across Europe. For many years we undertook bespoke testing of new designs for rail passenger seats and tables, and also for train drivers, with high fidelity replicas of rail cab consoles and drivers’ seats.
Although we no longer offer rail testing facilities, our dedicated team of engineers, technicians and quality assurance staff can support bespoke testing programmes undertaken at other test facilities. We work with our clients throughout their design and development phases to ensure their products are compliant with regulations. As well as assessing the structural performance and safety of furniture, we can evaluate injury criteria and effectiveness of survival space.
